1. INTRODUCTION
American Catfishing Anglers App, LLC (“ACAA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains the information we collect, why we use it, how it may be shared, how long we retain it, and your choices when using the ACAA mobile application, website, and related services.
2. DATA WE COLLECT
- Account and Contact Information: We collect name, email address, ACAA Angler ID, account identifier, and screen name to create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts.
Approximate Location: With permission, ACAA may collect coarse location for regional mapping, weather and water information, safety alerts, localized content, and tournament-region features. ACAA does not collect precise location for Build 29 and does not use location for advertising or cross-app tracking.
User Content and Communications: We collect profile, community, catch, and tournament photos or videos; measurements, captions, comments, posts, reports, feedback, safety reports, and customer-support content that you provide through our services. Public posts, profiles, leaderboards, and verified results may be visible to other users. Private in-app messaging is not available in Build 29 of the ACAA app.
Purchases and Subscriptions: ACAA may receive subscription status, product identifiers, purchase history, transaction status, or entitlement status to provide membership, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and provide support. Apple processes payments. ACAA does not collect payment-card, bank-account, or Apple Account payment credentials.
3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
- We use collected information only for app functionality: accounts and security; profiles and community features; mapping and localized information; membership access and purchase restoration; customer support; tournament and catch verification; leaderboards and records; fraud prevention; safety and abuse investigations; legal compliance; service communications; and reliability. ACAA does not use personal information for third-party advertising, data-broker activity, or cross-app tracking.
4. SHARING, TRACKING, AND ADVERTISING
ACAA does not sell personal information. We may share information only as necessary with Apple services supporting authentication, cloud storage, purchases, mapping, weather, and distribution; service providers working for ACAA under confidentiality and data-protection obligations; tournament or safety personnel for verification, disputes, fraud prevention, or participant protection; authorities when legally required; or a lawful business successor. We do not share personal information with advertising networks or data brokers for targeted advertising, request Apple’s advertising identifier for targeted advertising, or combine ACAA information with third-party data for advertising measurement.
5. PERMISSIONS, SECURITY, AND RETENTION
Users control location, camera, photo-library, and notification permissions in iOS Settings. ACAA collects tournament photos or videos, not voice recordings or other audio data. We use reasonable safeguards, but no electronic system is completely secure. We retain information only as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain security, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, preserve official tournament and ranking records, comply with law, and enforce agreements. When no longer required, information is deleted or de-identified subject to lawful retention needs.
6. RIGHTS, ACCOUNT DELETION, AND YOUTH
Users may access or correct certain account information in app settings and request deletion through the in-app Delete Account option or by contacting ACAA. After verification, we delete or de-identify associated information unless retention is reasonably necessary or legally permitted for security, fraud prevention, disputes, tournament integrity, legal compliance, or enforcement. Applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. ACAA accounts are intended for users age 16 or older; youth participation must be managed by a parent or legal guardian. If practices change, ACAA will update this policy and App Store disclosures before collecting materially different data.
7. INTERNATIONAL USE
Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where ACAA or its service providers operate, with protections described in this policy and as required by applicable law.
